Merryhill Midtown Enrichment Programs

Merryhill-Midtown Science Enrichment Programming for 2014-2015

Our science enrichment workshops are grouped into six sessions, so that your budding junior scientist can enjoy hands-on experiments, spectacular demonstrations, inquiry-based discussions, and the opportunity to create science takehome projects all year long.  To add to the "Mad" fun, we're including some entertaining science shows and activity days to the mix.  Program policies are listed at the bottom of the page.

Seeking Our Senses Explore all five senses. Test your vision with optical illusions, experiment with your hearing, and try your hand at reading Braille.    Decomposers Worms + Garbage = Fertilized Soil and a lot of fun! Take an up-close look at some decomposers that are living and working in our environment everyday.
Where's the Air? Explore the concepts of air pressure and buoyancy through experimentation and thought-provoking demonstrations.    Playing with Polymers

Dissolve Styrofoam with a mystery chemical and make your very own slime to take home and experiment with.

Wild Wind & Water Learn about the power of air pressure and moving water and investigate the ways we can harness and use these important energy sources.    Bugs! Insect defenses and their role in our ecosystems will be explored in fun, hands-on activities that introduce children to these fascinating creatures!

Who is Mad Science?

Mad Science of Sacramento Valley is one of over 100 Mad Science franchises in over 20 countries that entertain and educate millions of children every year with exciting, hands-on science! For over 25 years, the Mad Science Group has invested in research and development and continues to do so. We believe in the importance of being at the forefront of our industry and continue to create hands-on science programming for kids.

Our location has been serving eight counties within the Sacramento area since 1995. We aim to give children the experience of science in a fun, engaging way, to foster their excitement for science and encourage them to consider pursuing STEM-based careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Students learn how to apply critical thinking skills using the scientific method and they gain confidence by learning about science in an interactive environment.  We make science fun!
